Production Details
Made from 100% malted barley distilled in the Highland region of Scotland, through the traditional Scottish method using double distillation with every batch, retained feints & foreshots in copper pots.
Highland Mountain is a blended malt whisky made by blending together single malt whiskies. We use malted barley distilled in the Highlands region of Scotland, using the traditional Scottish method of double distillation. The Single Malts are matured in oak barrels for a minimum of 3 years and masterly blended to meet our Whisky Director’s highest quality & taste standards. The whisky is then cut to bottling strength using exceptionally pure spring water.
Highland Mountain Peated follows the same process but also uses peated single malt whisky made from Scottish peat, to deliver the smooth smoky notes. After malting the barley the grains are dried over a peat-burning fire resulting in the smoky flavours infiltrating the barley. This smokiness is retained through the entire mashing, fermentation, distillation and maturation process.
